Area 9
Area 9 is not too much different from the previous chapter. However in an emergency area you would notice that we have new Win conditions for the map, such as hostage rescue and establishing supply route. As mentioned previously, knowing your match up of echelon composition vs SF unit composition will minimize the repair cost.
Supply route mission physically connects HQ node all the way to node with a flag with friendly control nodes in the middle. So it is crucial that echelons clear all the hostiles near the route.
Hostage rescue mission requires echelon[s] to take hostage dolls to friendly controlled helipad/HQ to extract them before hostages are overwhelmed by hostile units. It is important to know that swapping with hostage T-doll does not consume move point, so it can be used strategically.
S-Rank condition: Kill 6 unit in 3 turns; control enemy HQ.
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
S-Rank condition: Kill 8 unit in 4 turns; control enemy HQ.
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG /MG SG recommended if struggling] + 1 Dummy HG
Most important part is to check if dummy echelon is in danger or not before ending turn. Some cases might force you to move the dummy to the side as both node adjacent to the HQ can have enemy units. If this occurs, you will be restricted to shortest route to HQ on turn 4.
To meet kill requirement take the route with more enemy units.
Map view: another RNG dependent map. I will go for method that seems to be more reliable than others.
The Jaeger units on the left hurts a lot, make sure to kite accordingly.
Required Squads: 2 [2SG MG echelon + 1 AR or RF echelon]
Set up so that you have 2 SG tankers with armor of 30 ideally on position 3 and 9. Other 3 echelon members can be different depending on your availability.
For my case i have Negev so I can be bit relaxed in composition. if you are lacking MG, mk23 and other fp buff HGs will be a good addition to MGs.
Turn 1, straight through the judge. If you DO have parachute fairy, take flight to neutral helipad up north, then take easy path to HQ. Just wait a turn so you can get 4 kill requirement. On very rare occasion there can be more than 5 units in the way to the HQ, if this is the case, reset will be the easiest way.
Once you beat the judge, follow the path to HQ and end turn.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S-Rank condition: Establish supply route and defend it for 2 turns within 7 turns.
Required Squads: 1 [ARSMG with AoE skill recommended] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon
Required Squads: 3 Combat Echelon [AR or RF echelons, MG if too hard] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon.
Deploy Friend Echelon and set to 'eliminate'.
Take the helipad and deploy 2nd combat echelon.
Deploy 3rd combat echelon, it will fight at most twice, and maybe once depending on RNG.
move up the supply route with 2 echelons.
2nd combat echelon move to take out the straggler if it threatens to cut the line.
Keep on establishing the line. With 1 remaining move, you can look to capture mode nodes near HQ for the silver medal achievement.
Take the middle helipad in the middle.
Resupply before moving!
Swap with hostage, this echelon is in charge of rescuing one in the corner [colt hostage].
Spawn a Friend echelon and set to 'Eliminate'.
Deploy Dummy from helipad that will be used to rescue the hostage.
Swap all the way down to current position, below the hostage T-doll.
All you have to do now is rescue and swap back with Friend Echelon to manually extract the hostage.
use remaining 2 moves to capture hostage T-doll.
S-Rank condition: Rescue 3 hostage T-dolls within 3 turns.
Required Squads: 3 Combat Echelon + 1 Friend Echelon
Go straight for the boss with your Judge echelon. Deploy 3rd Combat Echelon on the HQ to defend it from the enemy units.
3rd combat Echelon moves up from HQ and swap with hostage T-doll. Then move towards hostage doll on the left side.
Swap with hostage then rescue so your position is right next to neutral helipad on bottom left.
Spawn a Friend Echelon on HQ then you will move your Judge echelon to capture the remaining hostage T-doll in t he middle.
If your judge echelon has plenty of health and DPS, you can swap back to rescue manually.
Finish extracting hostages to end the mission!
****
It is important to be flexible in mission due to Girls Frontline does not have fixed enemy movements. So adopt accordingly. Some maps may not be possible to S-Rank depending on RNG.
I'm also avoiding using fairy as requirement for the maps, but having parachute fairy can definitely make life easier.

- 9-1
S-Rank condition: Kill 6 unit in 3 turns; control enemy HQ.Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Map View. Relatively simple map. AoE skills with low CD will be useful.
Depending on the kill count, you can pick your route on turn 3 to avoid unnecessary battle.
- 9-2
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Map view: This is one of most RNG based map in area 9. Just hope that enemy will be on the path or run into echelon to fill the kill count.
- 9-3
S-Rank condition: Kill 8 unit in 4 turns; control enemy HQ.
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Map View: also RNG based map but not as bad as previous map. Mortar units hurt so watch out for the warning sign on tile.
Follow the path that has more SF units on the way to the enemy HQ. Don't forget to resupply before moving out!
- 9-4
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG /MG SG recommended if struggling] + 1 Dummy HG
Map View: It's first normal map that has temporary resupply point that is a must in order to reach the enemy HQ. If enemy units are getting tough, I recommend MGSG even if they are expensive to run.
Spawn dummy echelon after combat echelon moves out of the HQ.
To meet kill requirement take the route with more enemy units.
If you did not had any issue near HQ, you are more flexible on route options, but if you were unable to start on the temporary resupply node, take the shortest route to HQ.
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
- 9-5
Required Squads: 2 [ARSMG and RFHG recommended]
Map view: another RNG dependent map. I will go for method that seems to be more reliable than others.
The Jaeger units on the left hurts a lot, make sure to kite accordingly.
- 9-6
Required Squads: 2 [2SG MG echelon + 1 AR or RF echelon]
Map View: Judge is interesting boss that has low damage per hit, however makes up for it for incredible rate of fire and accuracy AND firing at 2 targets at the same time. Your typical smg tank will not work here. Bring out the SGs.
If you have parachute fairy, you can also use the top left helipad to skip the judge fight.
Your goal is to put main dps T-doll to 6 Position at the beginning of the battle where judge will not target with AoE skill. other 2 T-dolls in the back will have to scramble to get out of damage zone.
Once you beat the judge, follow the path to HQ and end turn.

Emergency Difficulty
- 9-1E
Required Squads: 1 [ARSMG with AoE skill recommended] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon
Map View: extended version of 9-1 map with now with new win condition of supply route.
Deploy Friend Echelon then set to eliminate. You can choose to leave it at that until end of the map, but some cases it's better to toggle as you see it fit.
This is the case where changing to wait could save you some time with friend echelon moving back and forth.
Depending on where the Guard unit will be, your dummy echelon location will be different from mine. Adopt accordingly since after that guard unit is taken care of, there will be no more combat.
work your way to establishing route.
You don't have to fight last enemy unit and you will still establish the supply route just fine. With remaining move points, see if you can capture rest of the map nodes for silver medal. Additional dummy echelon will be a big help.
either just end turn or use additional dummy echelon to capture remaining nodes.
- 9-2E
Required Squads: 3 Combat Echelon [AR or RF echelons, MG if too hard] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon.
Map View: Same map as normal but with supply route mission. This map is possible to get silver at the same time as S rank if you use the extra move points.
After establishing the supply route, take care of rest of the enemy units on the map and control all nodes for silver medal achievement.
Required Squads: 2 [AR recommended] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon
- 9-3E
Required Squads: 2 [AR recommended] + 1 Dummy + 1 Friend Echelon
Map View: It's very forgiving map in terms of getting to hostage. Enemy units however, are not. Be wary of initial volley from Strikers and Dragoons.
Take the middle helipad in the middle.
Resupply before moving!
Either path works, manually extract to finish the mission.
- 9-4E
Required Squads: 3 Combat Echelon + 1 Friend Echelon
Map View: We are rescuing 3 hostages that are on the map. If you have parachute fairy, you can avoid judge battle. If not just use the same exact echelon you used for the 9-6. I would recommend armor fairy if you have it to get additional armor on SG.
